The Issue

My name is Nafiso Wako. I am an educator, a devoted mother of five children (one of whom I lost at the tender age of three), a beloved friend, aunt, sister, and daughter.

I never imagined I would be writing this. But today, I need your help to stand up for what is right and to protect others from what I have endured.

I was betrayed in one of the worst ways possible.

My then sister-in-law, Dr. Nadar Ali, who is a practicing physician in Minnesota, falsely diagnosed me with postpartum depression, anxiety, and major depressive disorder. She wrote this false referral without ever seeing me as a patient, without my consent, and without any legitimate medical evaluation.

This was not a mistake. It was intentional. My ex-husband, who is Dr. Ali’s brother, used this fraudulent referral to trick me into therapy under the guise of marriage counseling. I later learned it was a premeditated plan between them to manipulate custody proceedings and destroy my reputation as a mother.
The harm this caused me:

    •    I was prescribed psychiatric medication I never needed based on her false diagnosis.

    •    My permanent medical record is now tainted with mental health conditions that were fabricated.

    •    I was humiliated, isolated, and betrayed by those who should have protected me.

    •    I was portrayed as mentally unstable in court, risking my children’s wellbeing and my own stability as their mother.

The pain did not stop there.

My child died after falling from an 8-story window under his father’s negligent watch. Even in my grief, I have been forced to fight for my dignity and my children’s safety.

My ex-husband’s family continues to sully my reputation and pile fabricated court cases against me. Just last week, after I stood up for my brothers who were being unfairly billed by him, I was falsely accused of attacking him. Now I am facing charges pressed against me, a mugshot circulated, and yet another effort to humiliate and silence me.

What Dr. Nadar Ali did is not only unethical, it is criminal.

She committed:

    •    Medical fraud and malpractice

    •    Forgery and false documentation

    •    Conspiracy to interfere with my parental rights

    •    Intentional infliction of emotional distress

    •    Medical battery and lack of informed consent

I am asking for your help.

I am one woman, a mother, an educator, a community member who deserves dignity and justice. But together, we are powerful enough to demand it.

 I ask you to:

    1.    Sign this petition to demand accountability.

    2.    Call on law enforcement to immediately investigate Dr. Nadar Ali and her brother for fraud, conspiracy, forgery, custodial interference, and ongoing harassment.

    3.    Contact the Minnesota Medical Board to suspend and revoke Dr. Nadar Ali’s medical license for gross malpractice, ethics violations, and falsifying medical documentation to harm me.

    4.    Reach out to her current workplace in Minnesota to demand they conduct a thorough internal review and protect all patients and families from her abuse of medical power.

    5.    Stand with me and share my story widely so no other woman, mother, or human being endures this kind of betrayal and systemic violence.

 From my heart to yours

Fraudulent mental health diagnoses destroy lives.

Abusing medical power to control mothers is violence.

Weaponizing the courts to harass a grieving mother is cruelty.

I am Nafisa Wako. I refuse to be silenced.

With your help, I will stand tall in truth and fight for justice not just for myself, but for every mother whose voice has been stolen.

Please, sign and share. Your voice matters.
