"Club America" is the high school association of TPUSA, a Club honoring Charlie Kirk and the Republican Party. They focus on topics like Politics, Ethical Topics, and Religion.

Last school year, Club America's chapter at Mount Vernon Township High School was founded by members of my graduation class (CO26). Even though most of the community and a good portion of the student body and faculty members strongly disapproved of the founding of this Club, the MVTHS school board approved it anyways.

The defensive argument was that if the Black Student Union (BSU) was allowed to form and meet, so should TPUSA. The school re-established it's Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) this year, and it's been thrown into the club standards debate pool as well.

GSA and BSU are clubs celebrating unity and identity. Club America/TPUSA is a club inviting politics into school and dividing the student body and faculty into red and blue.

On Thursday September 10th, 2026 (Tomorrow as I'm writing this), they are hosting a "Charlie Kirk and 9/11 Memorial".  Posts about the event have brought up the "What Makes a School Club/Organization Acceptable" argument again, and anyone with any empathy towards students in minority groups should see that Club America is causing more harm than good.

TPUSA should not be brought into a high school setting.
