The Issue

Bill S-214, the Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act, was a bill that would have ended animal testing for cosmetics in Canada. The bill died when parliament was dissolved ahead of the October 2019 Federal General Election.

Animal cruelty is currently still legal in Canada. Bill S-214 "amends the Food and Drugs Act to prohibit cosmetic animal testing and the sale of cosmetics developed or manufactured using cosmetic animal testing." and "provides that no evidence derived from animal testing may be used to establish the safety of a cosmetic." If we revived this bill, animal testing in Canada for cosmetics could become illegal again, leading to less animal abuse and cruelty.

If we want to actively prevent animal cruelty and testing in 2023, we need to attempt to revive this bill in order to prevent any more animals from being affected and harmed. Sign this petition today in order to make the change WE NEED to see in this world. These oblivious animals do NOT deserve to suffer. NO MORE ANIMAL TESTING!
