Revive Wolfenstein Series on PS5

Revive Wolfenstein Series on PS5
The Issue
As a lifelong gamer and digital artist, I’ve spent countless hours immersed in the worlds that developers work so hard to create. But few franchises have left as deep a mark on me as Wolfenstein. Its bold storytelling, visceral gameplay, and unapologetic stance against tyranny made it more than just a shooter — it was a statement.
I still remember the first time I played Wolfenstein (2009). The eerie atmosphere of Isenstadt, the supernatural twists, and the thrill of fighting back against a regime steeped in occult science — it was unforgettable. That game sparked my imagination and inspired some of my earliest digital art. It wasn’t just entertainment; it was fuel for creativity.
But today, Wolfenstein (2009) is trapped in licensing limbo. It’s not available digitally. No remaster. No re-release. And for PS5 players, the entire franchise is fading into obscurity. That’s why I’m calling on Microsoft Gaming, Bethesda, MachineGames, and Activision to bring Wolfenstein back — fully remastered and optimized for PS5.
🎮 Why Wolfenstein Matters
Wolfenstein is one of the oldest and most influential franchises in gaming, dating back to 1981.
Wolfenstein 3D (1992) helped define the first-person shooter genre, paving the way for DOOM, Quake, and countless others.
The rebooted series (The New Order, The Old Blood, Youngblood) brought cinematic storytelling and moral complexity to the genre.
The franchise has sold millions of copies worldwide, yet Wolfenstein (2009) remains inaccessible to new players.
📉 The Problem
Wolfenstein (2009) is not available on any digital storefronts, including Steam, GOG, or PlayStation Store.
Licensing issues between Activision and Bethesda have left the game in limbo.
PS5 players have no native access to the franchise — no remasters, no backward compatibility, no digital downloads.
The lack of availability is a loss for gaming history, digital preservation, and fan communities.
📈 The Opportunity
The PS5 has sold over 50 million units globally — a massive audience waiting to experience Wolfenstein.
Remasters of classic games like Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, and Final Fantasy VII have seen critical and commercial success.
Fan petitions have led to real change: Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Alan Wake Remastered, and System Shock all came back due to demand.
💬 My Message to the Decision Makers
To Phil Spencer, Todd Howard, Jerk Gustafsson, and the teams at Microsoft Gaming, Bethesda, MachineGames, and Activision:
Please hear us. Wolfenstein is more than just a game — it’s a legacy. It deserves to be preserved, celebrated, and shared with a new generation of players. Whether through a remaster, a re-release, or a licensing resolution, we ask you to bring Wolfenstein (2009) and the full franchise to PS5.
