We are advocating for the transformation of a 540-acre space, previously used as a landfill space up until 1999, in Miami-Dade County into a vibrant park that will serve as a sanctuary for the community. Currently sitting empty with a natural elevation of 70 feet, this land has so much untapped potential to become a hub for connection, health, and happiness for everyone in our community.

Recently, a 5k race "Waste to Race" was hosted on this land, and it was filled with people of all ages enjoying the space and embracing its beauty. This event proved that the area has the power to bring people together, to inspire movement, and to create lasting memories. However, this is just the beginning.

By turning this space into a well-designed park, we can provide a place for people of all different backgrounds to come together. From runners to cyclists, walkers, those with strollers, etc. This park can offer green spaces for relaxation, trails for all kinds of physical activity, grounds for children, open fields, etc.

The possibilities are endless.
