Smighties Universe launched in early 2021, with initial digital "Smighties Pods" becoming available in January of the same year, followed by the announcement of physical toys bundled with NFTs launching globally a year later in April 2022 through a partnership with Toikido, a London-based entertainment company specializing in digital design and toys, established in 2020 by founder Darren Garnham.

Unfortunately, when all else fails, Smighties Universe was faded due to the challenges of the blockchain/NFT space and potentially shifting entertainment trends. The original mobile games and NFT platform was largely inactive or have been discontinued, with few updates since 2021. Even though no official statement from Reality Gaming Group, Herotainment or Toikido since the original mobile games and NFT platform was largely inactive or discontinued.

Smighties Universe fans disappointing that they wanted a follow-up to Smighties Universe titled Smighties Legacy. Smighties Legacy uses blockchain to create unique, scarce digital collectibles (NFTs) for each Smigthy character that are straight from not only the animated show Smighties but also straight from Smighties Universe, Smighty Sweeper, Mighty Smighties and Herotopia. Smighties Legacy was going to have Smighties legends, new Smighties, new elements, new rarities, new worlds, new Smighty Hotels and new features, as well as new Smighties Pods. Smighties Universe will be developed by Reality+ and Herotainment in collaboration with Toikido.

The title Smighties Legacy was possible to avoid confusion with the word legacy such as Tron: Legacy, a 2010 movie and even The Craft: Legacy from 2020, as well as comics like the 2017-18 relaunch of American comic books titled Marvel Legacy and X-Men: Legacy, a 1991 comic series from Marvel Comics, both have nothing to do with Smighties Legacy.

Besides the blockchain-based digital collectible platform, Reality+, Herotainment, and Toikido will launch not only this blockchain-based digital collectible platform Smighties Legacy, but also launch a virtual world game of the same name aimed at younger kids and Smighties fans alike where you can create a Smighty and hang out in a virtual world just like Club Penguin. Plus a mobile game for iOS and Android devices titled Smighties Legacy: Trading Card Game, a card game is easy to pick up but more tough to put down. Master new elements, battle the forces, play with friends via Wi-Fi or online play where you can play against friends around the world and new hundreds of levels to beat. Smighties Legacy: Trading Card Game will be using the same gameplay as Mighty Smighties but they added new features something that Mighty Smighties does not have. Both the virtual world game and the mobile game are compatible with the blockchain-based digital collectible platform Smighties Legacy and Herotopia Reborn.

Smighties fans sign the petition to revive and reinvent the digital collectibles and gaming platform Smighties Universe as a follow-up titled Smighties Legacy and it will be added to the Smighties website soon right when Smighties fans bring back the site. #SmightiesLegacy
