Revitalize Trevor Park Facilities for Yonkers Community

Revitalize Trevor Park Facilities for Yonkers Community

The Issue

Growing up, Trevor Park was more than just a green space for me; it was the backdrop of my childhood memories and youthful activities. Known as a historic park in our community of Yonkers, NY, Trevor Park boasts of numerous amenities like a building with bathrooms and storage, a water fountain, bleachers, and spaces for basketball, baseball, and a children’s playground. Despite its treasured status, the only significant improvement in recent years has been the children's playground.

This beloved park has stood the test of time, but some of its features, ,including the bathrooms and storage building, have been left behind. Many community and youth organizations, including the Westchester Untouchables, who have called this park home for over 8 years, are unable to utilize the facilities due to the building's abandoned state. Instead, children and parents are forced to use porta-potties, which are often unsanitary and inaccessible.

Imagine the potential of a fully functioning facility where children can safely use clean restrooms and community teams have appropriate spaces for storage and meetings. By updating and revitalizing these existing structures, we not only restore functionality but also respect the community’s heritage and the park’s role in it.

This petition calls for the local government and concerned citizens of Yonkers to support a renovation of these vital facilities at Trevor Park. Through community effort and governmental support, we can enhance the park’s usability for everyone, ensure health and safety, and create a more inviting environment for present and future generations.

Support this cause by signing the petition today to bring about these essential improvements in Trevor Park. Together, let's make Trevor Park a better place for all the families and organizations who cherish it.
