Neighbors 4 Action is a group of Old Brooklyn residents and business owners whose mission is to stop Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation (OBCDC) and The NRP Group's plan to demolish two buildings in Old Brooklyn's Historic District and construct a four-story affordable housing/mixed use project in its place.  The demolition would raze St. Luke's United Church of Christ and The Greenline Building at the prominent corner of Memphis Ave. and Pearl Rd.  These two buildings were key factors in Old Brooklyn's designation on the National Register of Historic Places. 

We respectfully request OBCDC to allow Tom Yablonsky (an award-winning Cleveland-based historic preservationist with a proven track record spanning decades) and his team full access and the necessary amount of time to submit their proposal to preserve these notable buildings for adaptive reuse.  Restoring and preserving this historic architecture will anchor a key corner of our downtown commercial corridor and lay a solid foundation for further investment in Old Brooklyn. 

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with OBCDC, Cleveland City Council, City officials, and the community to identify an alternate location within Old Brooklyn for an affordable housing project.  We firmly believe that this neighborhood can support both initiatives without losing two of Old Brooklyn's most iconic structures.
