Revitalise the Hope Andrews Reserve and sport grounds

Revitalise the Hope Andrews Reserve and sport grounds
The issue
Growing up in Mount George, NSW, the Hope Andrews Reserve was more than just a piece of land; it was a sanctuary where children played safely, and the community gathered joyfully. Sadly, this once vibrant hub is falling into disrepair, leaving our children with few places to play, forcing them onto roads and posing severe safety hazards. For us who spent countless afternoons playing cricket on the field and summers at the tennis club, it’s heartbreaking to see our beloved reserve in such a state.
The Hope Andrews Reserve and sports grounds are in desperate need of revitalisation and restoration. The tennis club and cricket field, once the pride of our community, now lie either unused or unsafe. The public toilets are in a sad state, needing both repair and regular maintenance. The grass is often overgrown, making it not only unappealing but also unsafe for sports and leisure. By providing adequate ground maintenance and mowing, we can restore beauty to the reserve and ensure it remains a welcoming space for all.
An integral part of this project is the addition of park equipment and amenities such as gas BBQs. These improvements will provide families and community groups alike with a large, safe space to enjoy and come together. By revitalising this community space, we honour our shared history and maintain the beauty of our landscape for future generations.
Restoring Hope Andrews Reserve isn't only about safety and aesthetics; it's about preserving a part of our community's history and giving our children and community a safe, engaging place to gather, play, and create memories.
Join us in advocating for the restoration of Hope Andrews Reserve.
