I retired as a Senior Grade 4 Officer from the bank in February 2008, dedicating my years to the service of the institution and its customers. Instead, I find myself drawing a basic pension, fixed at the time of my retirement, which currently amounts to approximately Rs. 16,000. This amount does not reflect my status or the responsibility level I held while in service.
The stark reality of the current pension scheme is that it places me at the same level as a clerk, despite the significant differences in our job responsibilities and career achievements. This unfair system has stripped away the recognition I worked hard to earn and has affected the quality of my life post-retirement, causing both financial strain and emotional distress.
