The Issue

In Cleburne, TX, Child Protective Services (CPS) has overstepped their bounds by removing children from homes without proper judicial oversight or concrete proof of abuse or danger. My family's experience is a testament to this issue. CPS intervened after hearing about an arrest involving my son. Despite there being no evidence of any threat or harm, they advised the mother of his child to prevent visitation. No court order was obtained, and there was no verified proof that the child was in danger. I was present through all this, ensuring the child's safety myself. Despite this, my son's name was added to the national child abuse registry based merely on suspicion and hearsay. This amounts to slander and has caused irreparable harm to his reputation.

This is not a singular case. Across the United States, there are reports of CPS acting without the necessary judicial oversight, removing children from loving homes, and placing innocent individuals on the national child abuse registry without substantial evidence. Such actions have lasting impacts on families and can unjustly ruin lives.

It's crucial that CPS practices be scrutinized and reformed to ensure they act with transparency and accountability. The process of removing a child should be subject to strict judicial review. CPS should be required to obtain court orders and present clear evidence before disrupting families. This change would protect against unwarranted trauma inflicted on children and families, while also ensuring that real instances of abuse are properly addressed.

Join us in calling for stricter regulations on CPS to require court orders and warrants before they can remove a child from a home. Let's protect our families and children's rights by ensuring that CPS operates within a framework that respects the sanctity of family and the judicial process. Sign this petition to demand a fair and thorough review of CPS policies in Cleburne, TX, and pave the way for change nationwide.
