Review Vincent Tan's Fit and Proper Status in Football Club Ownership

Review Vincent Tan's Fit and Proper Status in Football Club Ownership
The Issue
The football club I cherish is not just any club; it is a symbol of community, passion, and history. It belongs to the fans, and as such, its owner should act as a steward committed to safeguarding its future, both near and far. Currently, our beloved club finds itself in a state of uncertainty and neglect under the ownership of Vincent Tan. During this crucial summer, when preparations for the upcoming season should be in full swing, we are left without a manager, with no clarity on player retainment or recruitment strategies. There's a glaring absence of a concrete plan, transparent budget discussions, and any meaningful interaction with the fan base.
This neglect is further compounded by a lack of football knowledge at the board level. The board operates less than part-time, with no significant presence, and seems to prioritize other business ventures over the well-being of our club. No preseason friendlies have been arranged, leaving fans in despair and demoralized.
Our club, rich in legacy and fan spirit, is languishing, neglected, and without direction. It is clear that Vincent Tan's leadership is not fulfilling the responsibilities required to run a football league club successfully. As stakeholders in this community treasure, we must have a say in its stewardship.
We call upon the Football League to urgently reassess Vincent Tan's 'fit and proper' status to run a football league club. It is imperative that ownership reflects the club's values and prioritizes its long-term success and stability. Our club deserves leadership that recognizes its importance, not just as a business, but as a vital part of our community.
This year was Cardiff City's 125th Anniversary. A year for Celebration, a year to remember. Well it was a year to remember. Finishing bottom of the Championship. Officially the worst team in the league, who recorded the worst start to a season in their entire existence.
Enthusiasm, spirit, hope and passion starts at the top and filters through to the support. Little or none of those values have been evident from the board of directors. The support has been decimated. Perhaps this is due to the fact that we have been openly described by those who run the club as 'customers'.
Join us in our call for the Football League to take action and ensure the future of our cherished football club. Sign this petition to demand accountability and responsible stewardship of our club.
