The Issue

This is the petition to review all UK parks and playgrounds to ensure they are equipped with secure gates and stronger bolts/opening systems and adequate fencing.

Our playgrounds should be sanctuaries for our children, safe havens where they play happily and after Noah ran out the park, we have ask ourselves, are parks safe, could a metal gate with a secure close on it have prevented this from happening? Many parks in the UK lack secure gates and adequate fencing, leaving young ones vulnerable to potential dangers. It's time for action, and together we can drive change to prevent future accidents.

This is an unacceptable risk, not just to our children but to parents and guardians who place trust in these public spaces.

To rectify this, a thorough review of all UK playgrounds and parks is needed. The focus of this review would be to ensure each facility is equipped with heavy metal gates or special locks that children can't easily open, yet accessible enough for adults to quickly unlock in emergencies. Furthermore, updates to current fencing to meet or exceed safety standards are necessary.

Sign the petition and help make UK playgrounds the safe environment they are meant to be.
