Review Residence Status for Melania and Barron Trump

Review Residence Status for Melania and Barron Trump
The Issue
I, like many others, was profoundly affected by the termination of birthright citizenship during the Trump administration. To highlight the potential inconsistencies within this policy, let's consider the case of Melania and Barron Trump. Melania Trump was not a US citizen at the time of Barron Trump's birth. Under elimination of birthright citizenship, questions arise about the validity of Barron's status, despite his mother later acquiring citizenship.
By revoking birthright citizenship, people born on US soil no longer automatically become American citizens, unless one or both of their parents are citizens. This policy reversal was first introduced in an executive order by President Trump in 2018, an issue of deep concern to the migrant community (source: New York Times, 2018).
In light of this, the purpose of this petition is to request a review of Melania and Barron Trump’s residence status. This is not to target individuals, rather to highlight apparent disparities in policy application. If immigration laws are adopted, they should be uniformly applicable, regardless of one's social or political standing.
To uphold the principles of justice and equality, I urge you to sign this petition. Your voice can make a difference and push for uniform application of laws for all.
