Review leadership and policies at Mercia Northridge
The Issue
We, the undersigned parents, carers and members of the school community, are calling on the Ceo of Mercia trust to urgently review the leadership and policies being implemented at Mercia Northridge following concerns that recent changes are having a detrimental effect on pupils’ wellbeing, mental health, sense of safety and ability to thrive at school.
We believe that pupils’ welfare and wellbeing must remain at the heart of every decision made by the school. We are asking the Trust Board to conduct an independent review of the leadership decisions and new policies, listen to the experiences of pupils, parents and staff, and take appropriate action where those decisions are found to be detrimental to pupils.
We are calling for:
An urgent review of the new rules and policies.
An independent investigation into their impact on pupil wellbeing.
Meaningful consultation with parents, pupils and staff.
Transparency from the Trust regarding how these policies were introduced and justified.
A review of whether school leadership is putting pupil welfare and safeguarding at the centre of decision-making.
Appropriate action by the Trust Board if the review identifies serious failures in leadership or the treatment of pupils.
