As a deeply concerned community member affected by the recent changes implemented by the new Washington County Board of Education, I implore others to recognize these drastic modifications to meeting times. The Board altered the business meeting start time from 6pm to 4pm, and the work session time from 3pm to 1pm - all without seeking any input or consulting stakeholders. These meetings, open to the public, are an integral opportunity for staff, families, and the community to voice their concerns and provide input on crucial decisions. The new times, however, have made it virtually impossible for many individuals to attend due to work, school commitments, and transportation limitations.

As we are aware, several members of the Board are new to their positions - it is essential to offer them a comprehensive understanding of our school system, which can only arise from diverse and extensive community input.
