This is the story of a friend who lives undiagnosed with Down’s syndrome and was taken advantage of. An exploit in our fantasy football league occurred, where he was persuaded to trade Tee Higgins for Joe Mixon, a decision that was not made fairly or objectively. Despite the popularity of fantasy football – with more than 60 million people playing in the U.S. and Canada as of 2017, according to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, no clear rules are set against such manipulative practices. It is with this unfair trade that we demand intervention. We petition for the reversal and invalidation of the trade of Tee Higgins for Joe Mixon. Not only will this correct an unfair decision that unfairly targets an individual with special needs, but it will also set a precedent for ethics and fairness in the world of fantasy sports.
