Reverse the Unfair Transfer of a Disabled Government Employee

Reverse the Unfair Transfer of a Disabled Government Employee
The Issue
Petitioning the Hon.CM, Deputy CMs, Health Minister, Disability Rights Commissioner, Human Rights Commissioner of Maharashtra.I am writing this petition as a plea for understanding and support. I am a single mother with a 90% disability, serving as an employee for the state government’s Public Health Department. Despite the existence of government resolutions intended to protect the rights of disabled government employees, I find myself victimised by an unjust transfer that has placed me 30 to 35 km away from my home in Pune - a deliberate flouting of rules and regulations enacted specifically for our protection. This is not the first time I faced such an occurrence. Back in February 2015, when I was first employed, I was similarly posted a hundred kilometres away, showing a consistent pattern of reluctance to uphold my rights as a disabled employee. In September 2016, I petitioned then CM Honorable Devendra Fadnavis for my transfer back to Pune from Baramati. I now find myself in the same distressing situation having been transferred to Saswad, ignoring once again the regulations for transferring disabled employees. This ordeal is not just about me; it highlights a systemic pattern of discrimination against disabled employees within government services. Considering there are over 21 million people in India with disabilities, it is critical that these issues are surfaced and dealt with head-on (World Bank 2019). Join me in fighting this injustice. Demand to revert my illegal transfer and uphold the rights of disabled government employees. Your signature can create a powerful ripple of change and stop this ongoing practice of blatant ignorance towards the rights of disabled individuals in the workforce. Please sign and support.
