岡山大学に通う学生として、私たちは今回発表された大幅な授業料値上げ（国内学生は1.2倍、海外から来ている学生は2.5倍）に強い懸念を抱いています。この決定は、多くの学生にとって裏切られたような気持ちや失望感を与えるものであり、特に大学側から十分な説明や情報共有が行われていない点に大きな問題を感じています。

大学側は、今回の値上げによって得られる資金がどのように使われるのかを明らかにしていません。金銭面における透明性が欠けている以上、多くの学生がこの値上げの妥当性に疑問を抱くのは当然です。自分たちが支払うお金がどこに使われ、現在や将来の学生にどのような利益をもたらすのかが分からない状況は、不安を感じさせます。

さらに、この大幅な授業料改定を提案する前に、学生の意見や声を十分に聞く機会は設けられませんでした。多くの学生は、現在の教育環境や教育の質が、このような大幅な値上げに見合っているとは感じていません。また、この値上げが教育環境の本当に必要な改善につながるようにも見えません。

岡山大学の教育は、出身国に関係なく、すべての学生にとってアクセスしやすく、負担可能なものであるべきです。この値上げは学生に経済的負担を与えるだけでなく、今後海外から岡山大学への進学を考える学生を遠ざける可能性もあります。その結果、岡山大学が国際的な学術コミュニティから孤立してしまう恐れもあります。

私たちは大学側に対し、学生との十分で意味のある対話を行い、金銭面に関わる重要な変更を実施する前に、すべての学生の声を聞き、考慮することを求めます。また、財政運営や資金の使い道について透明性を確保し、学生が授業料の使途を理解できるようにすることを求めます。

 As students attending Okayama University, we are deeply troubled by the recent announcement of a significant tuition increase: 1.2 times for domestic students and 2.5 times for international students. This decision has left many of us feeling betrayed and disappointed, especially given the lack of transparency and communication from the university administration.

The administration has failed to disclose how the funds from this tuition raise will be allocated. Without clarity and transparency in financial matters, many students are rightfully concerned about the justification of such an increase. It's unsettling not knowing where our money is going and how it will directly benefit us and future students.

Moreover, the opinions and feedback from students were not solicited before proposing this drastic tuition hike. Many of us believe that the increase is not reflective of the current quality of education, nor does it seem to support any fundamentally necessary improvements in our educational environment.

The education at Okayama University should be accessible and affordable to all students, regardless of their country of origin. This hike not only creates financial strain but also potentially discourages prospective international students from enrolling in the future. The repercussions of such a decision could isolate Okayama University from the global academic community.

We propose that the university administration engage in meaningful dialogue with the student body, ensuring that all voices are heard and considered before implementing any financial changes. Furthermore, we demand transparency in financial management and reporting, allowing students to understand and consent to where their tuition fees are being utilized.
