Reverse the Decision to Relocate Community Cats' Feeding Area in Kai Garden Residences

The Issue

The recent decision by the Property Management Office (PMO) at Kai Garden Residences to move the feeding and water bowls of our community cats to the smoking area has raised serious concerns among residents.

These felines have been an integral part of our community, contributing positively to our communal spirit. The relocation not only exposes them to secondhand smoke but also disrupts their established routines, both of which can be detrimental to their health and well-being.

In Metro Manila alone, there are thousands of community cats that coexist peacefully with humans (Animal Welfare Coalition). Their welfare should be a priority in a pet-friendly residential areas like ours.

We propose the following potential solutions:

  1. Establish designated feeding areas away from main residential and high-traffic zones, ensuring they are safe and clean for both the cats and the residents.
  2. Support our volunteers who have previously raised these following ideas with PMO to assist with the TNVR program and creation of a Cat Condo within Kai Garden Residences, thus addressing any concerns from all residents.
