It has been awhile since we last updated and we thank you profusely for the support.
This petition has been used at various times this year to advocate for the restoration of Medicare funding for rural/regional healthcare. This included engaging with both MPs as well as the media.

We are proud to update that the government has restored the funding for telepsychiatry for rural/regional areas.
This means that the people in these areas will get a 50% increase in their Medicare rebate when seeing a psychiatrist, thereby reducing out of pocket costs.

Our fight is not yet over though! We are still advocating for:

• The restoration of funding for other specialties
• The extension of the 10 additional COVID-19 psychologist sessions introduced in 2020.
