Many state employees have had the privilege of experiencing firsthand the benefits of a hybrid work schedule. A higher degree of flexibility has led to a greater increase in productivity and happiness in the workplace. However, the recent decision to rescind the option to work from home has threatened to undermine these benefits.

A full-time return to the office is not something state employees have asked for. On the contrary, it stands to diminish the satisfaction and productivity of state employees, breed unhappiness, and significantly impact work-life balance. Additionally, remote work options allow employees to work when weather, poor health, and other unpredictable circumstances do not permit working in the office.

We respectfully request that Governor Mike Braun reassess his decision and re-implement the option to choose a hybrid schedule. This is not just about us, but about the future of work in Indiana.
