Justin Wagner started this petition to United States Supreme Court and

Whats at stake? With 268,531 still unemployed in the state of Georgia. That would equate to $1,283,145,876 of federal funding, already voted on and signed into law by President Biden. Thats over a billion dollars which would serve as a lifeline to many. It would stimulate Georgia's recovering economy as well.

Brian Kemp and the GDOL argue the reason for the labor shortage is because of the added unemployment benefits. However, most leaders and economist's say that this is not true. Other reasons for the labor shortage are from things like scare of being exposed to covid 19. In a state that is trailing the nation in vaccinations. Child care issues. People having time to rethink there careers during the lockdown. A lot has changed and  people are uncertain. The job sectors seeing the most growth. Are limited to leisure, hospitality, andcl restaurant. People applying for jobs are coming to find out. There either over qualified for the openings, or they have completely different skill set. People don't want to settle for a job making less than they were pre-covid. Thats what a lot of job seekers have found. That, and we are nearly 7 million fewer jobs as a nation than we were pre-covid. There is something to be said about that! Ironically though, Georgia's unemployment rate is well below the nations average. Anylist consider the State of Georgia at Full Employment. Yet Governor Kemp still has the audacity to make a decision of this volume and magnitude.

Please sign this today. Let's stop this outright cruel decision to steal this money away from the workers of Georgia. Governor Kemp is violating state statutes as Governor. This decision is not in favor of human need, nor is it really about this labor shortage. It's politically motivated at the expense of georgia's workers. Its senseless, and selfish. The motives behind this decision are clearly political.

The 100% federally funded $1.3 billion. Provides food, shelter, and it stimulates our economy. If the enhanced benefit is causing the labor shortage. (Which it's not). The consequences of taking it away. From putting families hungry without food. Potentially causing homelessness. Losing the things we need to survive. Is going to OUTWEIGH any repercussions to the workforce/labor shortage. And to really dismantle there evil, callous, and cruel act. If employers are having trouble hiring, it's because of low wages, not the remaining benifits. People don't want to take a job making less than they were prior to the pandemic. It was through no fault of there own.

This decision is cruel. It's politically motivated. And it's putting our families at risk in these uncertain times. Let's reverse the decision and reinstate these benefits immediately.
