The Issue

As an ardent dog lover and activist, I have tirelessly fought for justice for these loving, innocent creatures who share our world and depend on our kindness. The recent order from the Supreme Court to remove stray dogs in a mere eight weeks does not only reflect sheer cruelty, but it also reeks of hasty decision-making, lacking consultation with medical and canine experts.

Imagine the horror that will unfold in the streets of NCR as hundreds, perhaps thousands, of stray dogs are forcibly removed from the only homes they've ever known. This heartless action contravenes humane approaches to coexistence between humans and animals. Many dogs will undergo immense suffering, leading to unnecessary deaths. This is not the solution.

The root of this decision appears to be based on fear-mongering and misinformation surrounding dog bites, without verified evidence. Mass dog removal is neither the answer to these issues nor a reflection of who we are as a compassionate society. We must act wisely and collaboratively to find a mutually beneficial resolution.

I appeal to the authorities to reverse this decision and implement a more humane and effective order, one that incorporates input from veterinary professionals, animal rights advocates, and dog parents. Proper management should focus on vaccination, sterilization, and greater public awareness to ensure safety and harmony for both our communities and these voiceless beings.

Join me in urging the Supreme Court to reconsider this draconian measure and guide us towards a balanced and humane solution. Stray dogs should not be scapegoats for systemic issues poorly understood by those not in their daily company. Please sign this petition to protect our street dogs and create an environment where all creatures can thrive.
