REVAMP KUJE GENERAL HOSPITAL TO STANDARD BEFORE WE LOSE MORE PEOPLE!

The Issue

Kuje General Hospital at the Kuje Area Council, Federal Capital Territory is in an unhygienic and unpalatable state. It is uncomfortable for patients and does not provide them access to standardized healthcare.

I live in Kuje Area council and the Kuje General Hospital is the most accessible primary health care facility for my family. My aunt visits the facility periodically for pediatric support for her twin babies as this is her registered healthcare facility, she constantly complains of the toilets and the long queues she has to follow not minding the lack of specialized doctors or proper checkup for her babies. Although registered at the Kuje General Hospital, she had moved to the Gwagwalada General Hospital to deliver her babies. There had been several instances where the doctors do not even look at the children before administering drugs. They only ask the mother about symptoms and administer the previous drugs on their history. There had been one particular incident where one of the babies suffered from diarrhea and the doctor asked the mother to feed him what he likes without administering any medication. These and several similar incidents occur daily at this facility.

I am looking to start a discourse on how this facility can be improved so as to save the lives of the many people in our community who depend on Kuje general hospital as their primary health care facility.
