Revamp Kimberly's 2025 Homecoming Dress Up Days

Revamp Kimberly's 2025 Homecoming Dress Up Days
The Issue
As a Student of Mortimer Jordan High School, I am reaching out to express a pressing concern shared by many in our community regarding the 2025 Homecoming Week dress-up days. These themed days are typically a significant highlight for students, offering a chance to display their creativity, school spirit, and unity. However, the proposed themes for the upcoming year have left much to be desired, and this is particularly distressing as it marks the senior year for many students who want to savor every moment.
The current selection of dress-up themes feels uninspired and fails to resonate with the spirit and enthusiasm that Homecoming should evoke. Themes like "Kooks vs. Pogues" or "Y2K" are repetitive and fail to capture the unique essence of our vibrant student body and community. We believe that these days should be memorable, inclusive, and a true representation of the dynamic energy that Kimberly, AL is known for.
Our proposal is to form a committee consisting of students, teachers, and community members to gather input and vote on fresh, exciting themes that better reflect our diverse interests and backgrounds. Ideas such as "White Lies", "Pajama Day", or "Rhyme Without Reason" could bring a richer and more engaging experience to our Homecoming Week.
By listening to the voices of those involved and affected, we can curate a more meaningful experience that everyone can look forward to. It is crucial for students, especially those in their final year, to have a memorable Homecoming Week that truly celebrates who we are as a community.
I urge you to support this petition for change. Together, let us transform the 2025 Homecoming Week into an event that embodies the spirit of Mortimer Jordan High School and leaves lasting memories for all involved. Please sign this petition to help us make these necessary changes.
