The purpose of this petition is to unite the couples and families who have been forcibly separated with no end in sight by travel bans and border closures during the COVID-19 crisis. 

These separations are painful, and they are not an effective tool to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Many of us have been waiting in pain, and many of us have started to organize.

Some countries have already shown it is possible to reunite loved ones. This petition hopes to replicate the success couples in Denmark found after they petitioned their government officials and shared their stories through social media.

We do not want to spread COVID-19. We are not tourists. We are not looking for a holiday or vacation. Reuniting partners and family needs to be reclassified as essential travel. We want to pay for COVID-19 tests, we will quarantine for at least 14 days. We will follow all safety requirements to protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19.
