Return Whiskey, the Beloved Dog, to Seattle from Washington DC

The Issue

My first born son is not a human, but a lovable, loyal canine companion named Whiskey who is currently stranded in Washington DC due to certain regulations. This situation has left both of us distraught and it's a trial we never imagined we'd face. Whiskey isn't just a pet; he's part of my family, a cherished member who has brought joy into our lives in Seattle.

Air travel for pets has become complex in recent years. In 2020, for example, airlines transported about 1 million animals and unfortunately, the U.S. Department of Transportation reported incidences of 11 animal deaths and 8 injuries. Despite such figures, the overwhelming majority of pets reach their destinations safely (U.S. Department of Transportation, 2020). With this in mind, it's important to state that the goal is not to shun pet transport regulations but to instead seek help in ensuring Whiskey can safely return home.

The current hurdle standing in our way isn't insurmountable, but it does require your help and support to ensure a safe journey back home for Whiskey. By signing this petition, you're making it known that cases like this deserve consideration, demonstrating that our pets aren't just animals, but an integral part of our families whose welfare matters. Let's work together to bring Whiskey home. Please, sign this petition today.
