Every Saturday during football season, Citadel fans pour into Johnson Hagood Stadium dressed in Citadel Blue and White, carrying the pride, tradition, and passion that make Bulldog football special.

But there’s a problem that needs to be fixed:

Our Bulldogs are playing on the wrong side of the field.

The fans come to Johnson Hagood Stadium to support OUR team. We stand, cheer, yell, and ride every play with our players. Yet today, our team is separated from the very fans who came to support them, while the visiting team gets to celebrate directly in front of the home crowd.

That doesn’t feel like home.

Charleston is our home. Johnson Hagood Stadium is our home. And our football team should be playing in front of the people who came to cheer them on.

Put the visiting team on the side facing the Charleston sun. Give our Bulldogs the shade, the home stands, and the energy of Bulldog Nation behind them.

More importantly, reconnect the players and the fans.

There is something special about looking into the stands and seeing thousands of people wearing the same colors, cheering for the same team, and sharing the same pride. Our players should be able to feel that connection throughout the game. Our fans should be able to look across the field and see the Bulldogs they came to support.

This isn't about changing the tradition of The Citadel. It's about restoring it.

Home games should feel like home.

We are asking The Citadel administration and football leadership to move the Bulldogs back to the home side of Johnson Hagood Stadium and put the visiting team on the opposite side.

Let the opposing team experience Charleston.

Let Bulldog Nation stand behind our players.

Let our cadets, alumni, families, and fans be connected to the team we came to support.

The players belong with their fans. The fans belong behind their team.

It's time to bring the Bulldogs back “Home.”
