The residents of Shubenacadie are upset. On May 21st our cenotaph was moved from the spot that it has been since 1921. This was done with no public input from the residents of Shubenacadie. We want it back where it belongs.

For 104 years the residents drove by the cenotaph on Main Street. For a small village Shubenacadie made a large contribution to the war efforts. The cenotaph was erected as a memorial to the soldiers who fought. The location of the cenotaph was close to the CNR station where they last set foot before boarding the train to go off to war.

It is important to return the cenotaph before the move is complete.
