The South and West Gippsland Transport is informing its supporters that a proposal to South Gippsland Shire Council has been made regarding the Korumburra railway station and rail yard.
The proposal is to utilise Korumburra railway station and the rail yard as the town's future community hub given its significance and location within the township.
The proposal has been planned to complement the restoration work taking place at the heritage listed 1907 built Korumburra railway station building by VicTrack.
The proposal will also enable the associated railway history to be preserved in anticipation of an inevitable rail return to Leongatha in the foreseeable future.
