The South & West Gippsland Transport Group appreciates everyone who has signed, shared and promoted our petition ‘Return of the Leongatha to Melbourne Passenger Trains on the South Gippsland Rail Corridor’ since it was initiated 2 years ago on December the 8th, 2013. It is the appropriate time to close the petition as the South & West Gippsland Transport Group will prepare to present and table it to its recipients over the next few weeks. We expect to announce the action that will be taking during this week after our December meeting on Tuesday the 15th of December between 7pm and 9pm at the Austral Hotel, 34 Bridge St, Korumburra VIC 3950 upstairs. The support that we have received over the last six months since the Public Transport Victoria Regional Network Development Plan Community Consultation at Leongatha has been tremendous. The petition numbers is reflective of this as it only had approximately 800 signatures in July and has tripled since then to 2,400 as of today. So, now is certainly your last chance if you haven't signed already to, "Follow and support the campaign to get trains back to Leongatha in Victoria's south east region that is South Gippsland!" 'Return of the Leongatha to Melbourne Passenger Trains on the South Gippsland Rail Corridor': https://www.change.org/p/return-of-the-leongatha-to-melbourne-passenger-trains-on-the-south-gippsland-rail-corridor Message sent on behalf of the South & West Gippsland Transport Group. “The South & West Gippsland Transport Group aims to improve public transport. It is advocating the return of rail services to Leongatha, to establish a rail loop between Cranbourne and Pakenham and to improve bus services between towns and Melbourne”.
