Return of a potentially dangerous anti social neighbour
Return of a potentially dangerous anti social neighbour
The Issue
We residents of Old Farm Close in Hounslow, Middlesex, have endured and victimised by a neighbour called Ejaz Qureshi. This tenant has resided at No 1 Old Farm Close for approximately three and a half years or more.
The residents who are old aged pensioners have lived in fear of Mr Qureshi and his relentless aggressive, threatening behaviour towards many residents. One resident has moved out due to the abuse.
We residents have had to endure Mr Qureshi home being a nest for drug dealers, who come late at night and their customers. Ejaz himself being a drug addict has not helped and the residents being exposed to criminal activities.
Mr Qureshi plays loud music throughout the day and into the early hours on a daily basis. One resident was threatened with knife for knocking and asking for the music to be lowered.
Mr Qureshi has threatened several residences with violence and sworn at them and been very abusive. Mr Qureshi was arrested in early March 2023, for assaulting an elderly man who was collecting letters for a resident that was away on holiday. The victim had a wound to his head and hospitalized. Mr Qureshi was arrested and currently awaits a court trial.
Mr Qureshi hygiene levels have also affected the residents, on a daily basis he would leave his left-over food on the grass and puts his rubbish at the back.
There have numerous appeals to Hounslow Homes and several housing officers about Mr Qureshi anti-social behaviour violent behaviour. Many residents have reached out for help over the years. The police are aware of Mr Qureshi and have been called many times.
Mr Qureshi was sectioned and admitted to hospital on 30th March 2023, by police and mental health team. The estate has been peaceful, residence have felt safe. There has been no drug dealing, loud music, threats to residents. The communal area has been cleaner and no smell of drugs.
On Friday 24th November 2023, much to our dismay, Mr Qureshi has returned to his flat. The residents are very horrified by this and feel let down by the council.
The residents were not notified or warned by Hounslow Council of Mr Qureshi return, given the number of complaints to the police and council over of Mr Qureshi’s unacceptable behaviour over the years. We feel let down.
We understand Mr Qureshi has mental health issues, but he has a history of threatening elderly neighbours. We are now in fear of reprisals as Mr Qureshi has made threats in the past that if anyone calls the police or complain he will make their life hell.
We the residence of Old Farm Close, feel let down by Hounslow Homes and Hounslow Council and ask that they reconsider re-housing Mr Qureshi to a more suitable home. We know Mr Qureshi he has rights but what about our rights. We demand that we need protection.
We are very certain that the estate will go back to its anti-social ways and the residents will live in fear. If this happens, we will hold Hounslow Council responsible for not protecting the tenants of Old Farm Close.
We NEED Hounslow Council to act before someone else is hurt.
