Jones County parents are frustrated that schools are still not open to parents, schools are not open to holding special events for the students. No field trips, grandparents day, or father/daughter dances.

Our students have missed out on so much and yet the Board of education up to this point has done nothing to fully open schools back up and continuously states “we are working on a plan” or we are “hopeful that this event can happen soon”. Quite frankly, no one is taking responsibility or using their authority to revoke the school systems current “pandemic response plan”. Parents, teachers, and students want the schools back to normal operation pre-Covid.

We want to be allowed to go to our kid’s schools, meet with teachers face to face, hold special events for students such as father/daughter dances, and spring festivals/ fundraising events. Not only do our children need these experiences for their social development; the schools need the opportunity for fundraising to get the schools much need supplies.
