As a citizen deeply moved by the diligence of Former President Rodrigo Duterte, I feel strongly about the situation he currently finds himself in. He was the only President that genuinely took his leadership duties to heart, serving the people of the Philippines with unwavering commitment. It is now of utmost importance that we rally together to bring him home, as he was forcibly taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

While pursuing an aggressive policy against illicit drugs, President Duterte's tenure was marked by significant economic progress. Under his administration, the Philippine economy grew by an average of 6.6% from 2016 to 2019, higher than the 5.3% averaged under his six predecessors. (Source: Philippine Statistics Authority). His relentless pursuit of infrastructural development under the "Build, Build, Build" program also led to an upsurge in job opportunities and nationwide progress.

However, his uncompromising stance against crime has drawn international criticism, landing him at the ICC against Philippine sovereignty. Such actions should be addressed within the domestic judicial system rather than an external, international entity.

We must voice out our demand to the international community to return Former President Duterte to Philippine soil, where he can face any charges, if any, in the national courts.
