Retro Andre Agassi's Air Zoom Ablaze & Air Zoom Pounce tennis sneakers!

The Issue

I have been a sneaker collector for over 20 years, dating back to the year 1996, when I was 14 years old. I am originally from and grew up in Boca Raton, and like many fellow South Floridians, I was introduced to the game of tennis at a young age. While most sneaker enthusiasts cite Michael Jordan as their sports hero and icon of choice - and rightfully so - I was more closely connected to the game of tennis and another Nike sports and tennis icon: Andre Agassi. Like Jordan, Agassi had an unprecedented style and flare that transcended the sport as well as fashion and apparel. A winner of a total of 8 Grand Slams, Agassi's accomplishments on the tennis court in addition to his profound and everlasting impact on the sport, fashion, and sneaker culture cannot be discounted or overlooked. Of all the Nike tennis sneakers worn by Agassi throughout his storied career, two signature models have yet to receive a re-release, which remained locked away in Nike's archive and sneaker vault: the 1997 Nike Air Zoom Pounce and 1997 Nike Air Zoom Ablaze. I was 16 years old and in high school when these two models originally released and were quite popular by design and function. Both models featured a low-profile design and Zoom Air technology and remain true artifacts of Nike footwear in the 90s. Agassi's trademark loud and rebellious color combinations set the stage for sneaker colorways as well as innovative outsole designs including the Nike Air Yeezy for years to come. Now that Agassi has re-established his partnership with Nike, and in honor of the 25th Anniversary of his Wimbledon Championship - Agassi's first career Grand Slam Title - I am hoping that other fellow tennis enthusiasts, Agassi fans and modern-day sneakerheads will take the time to read and sign this petition so that Nike may some day re-launch the Ablaze and Zoom Pounce either separately or as a special 2-pair limited edition "Agassi Grand Slam" or Challenge Court set. Rock and Roll Tennis lives on. Thank you for taking the time to read and sign this petition, and always remember to hit the ball as loud as you can!
