Our revered Coach Carter, who despite being retired, stepped in to help the Parkland wrestling team during a critical period. Our team was on the verge of starting the season without a head coach when he stepped in to help, immediately providing the support and leadership the kids needed. Despite not receiving any pay, he offered his time and expertise to coach our kids for a full season, treating them like family and going above and beyond for them. His impact on the wrestling team is unmistakably life-altering, shaping not just athletes, but truly inspiring young men and young women. Coach Carter is a legend in the sports world, and his acceptance to come out of retirement to assist the team only solidifies that status.

It is pertinent to mention that Coach Carter's dedication is admired not just by the kids he coaches but the whole wrestling community. YISD district should not let this be an act of charity but recognize Coach Carter’s efforts by offering him a paying position for the upcoming year. Retaining him will further strengthen the Parkland wrestling team and build on the work he has already done.
