Stop blocking off disabled parking

The Issue

During this lockdown period, many shops have used the disabled parking bays as pedestrian areas, completely blocking off our right to park. This wouldn’t be so bad if they had actually made new disabled parking bays elsewhere but they haven’t replaced them at all. It makes us feel like disabled people aren’t allowed to shop, we aren’t made to feel welcome. We haven’t even been given a second thought. PLEASE STOP BLOCKING OFF DISABLED BAYS. I for one have my wheelchair in the back seat and need the room to open the door wide and take the chair out, I shouldn’t have to drive to the shops and find the two remaining spaces out of the previous 10 are taken by others and no where else to go, meaning i have to go to another shop to find they have done the same. And whats worse is now that retail parks have reopened, once again its the disabled spaces that are sacrificed for queuing. Not even plans to create new ones, just completely blocking them off with no alternative. I counted 20 spaces completely gone when i went to one! Its not acceptable and this needs changing, make more spaces or come up with a new idea! Stop making our lives harder and even less accessible that it already is, all we want to do is shop and get it done quickly like everyone else.
