I am a concerned individual who believes in the importance of protecting our young ones from potential harm. The popular social media platform, TikTok, has become a significant part of our lives. However, it is also a platform that exposes users to various risks such as inappropriate content and cyberbullying. According to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), over half of children have been exposed to inappropriate videos on TikTok (source: NSPCC report). This alarming statistic underscores the need for stricter age restrictions on this platform.

By making TikTok an over 18s app, we can safeguard our children and teens from these risks while they are still developing their understanding of digital safety. We urge TikTok and relevant regulatory bodies to consider this change seriously.
