Our family, along with several other residents across 5 different streets in Green Township, are enduring a constant disruption to our peace due to the incessant noise from all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), dirt bikes and similar vehicles.  These vehicles are being run, for multiple hours at a time, on a patch of private property that is situated between yards in a densely populated suburb.  This loud and disruptive noise is not just an occasional nuisance; it's a regular, almost daily, disturbance that affects our ability to enjoy time spent inside and outside our homes.

The current noise ordinance in Green Township protects against noise violations during late nighttime and sleeping hours (11pm-7am); however, there is nothing specific in place to protect residents from noise disturbances during daytime and waking hours, allowing for these vehicles to run freely without repercussion.  The use of these vehicles should be restricted to designated areas away from residential neighborhoods for both safety reasons and out of respect for the peace and tranquility of residents' lives. We urge local authorities to enforce stricter regulations on where these noisy, and potentially dangerous, machines can be operated by prohibiting their use in densely populated residential areas.

We kindly ask you to sign this petition if you: 1.)Believe that everyone has a right to enjoy their home and yard without unnecessary disturbances or threats posed by inappropriate use of all-terrain vehicles and 2.)Would like to ask Green Township authorities and officials to pass a new restriction and/or ordinance to prohibit the use of these vehicles in residential neighborhoods.
