RestoreTheSox:Demand early off-season spending from Red Sox Ownership
La causa
To Fenway Sports Group and the Boston Red Sox Front Office
My name is Pascalle and I m the mom of the Debouzy s family. We are writing and launching the #RestoreTheSox movement because our family is really sad to see our beloved team go thru mockery and humiliation.
Even though we re living thousands of miles away in Chile we re die hard fans of the Boston Red Sox.
Watching the 18-2 blowout and two-game sweep by the Yankees in the wild card series made us very sad , although it was highly predictable. It is the result of multi off-season s and trade deadlines strategy which doesn't represent the quality since 1901 of the franchise.
We are starting this petition as a single family to give a unified voice to lots of frustrated fans.
For five consecutive season passerbys have seen Fenway lifeless in October. We are done each off-season seeing the front office pass up elite players in November and waiting until February or worst March to shop for the leftover players at a cheap price, also telling everyone that Red Sox has a farm full of talents and prospects...that we never get to see at an elite level.
We would like to see the front office allows the Boston Red Sox to operating like a championship caliber team.
Specifically we demand that ownership:
1. Stop waiting until February. The off-season begins in November. We demand aggressive, early pursuits of top tier free agents the moment the market opens rather waiting for spring training leftovers.
2. Spend on Elite powerful batters. We want a financial commitment to elite powerful players like Randy Arozarena and Zach Neto.
3. No more " bridge" years, no more transition seasons. The front office has some money to spend ( ticket prices at Fenway Park remain among the highest in baseball).
We love this team, it's history, it's community involvement and we are not okay sitting and watching the standard of excellence disappear.
Our ultimate goal if this is not resolved by Spring training is to initiate a massive, peaceful Fan- Family Demonstration outside Fenway Park on opening day, as well as a boycott for ticket buying.
This is more than just a petition . Our family s ultimate goal is to coordinate something never before seen in the history of Boston sports.
If Ownership refuses to act aggressively this winter we are calling on families and fans across Red Sox Nation to join for a massive., peaceful procession at Fenway on Opening Day 2027 to show ownership they can't take our loyalty for granted.
Furthermore we would be calling for a complete Fan boycott, urging fans to refuse to buy tickets or merchandisers until this Front Office invests our money in elite talent.
Please sign our family's petition to send an unmistakable organized message to John Henry and Craig Breslow: Restore the Spending. #RestoreTheSox.
