The Bristol Board of Education has become hyper politicized and has replaced sound governance on behalf of the citizens of Bristol with a desire for power and control at the expense of our students, teachers, administrators and community members.

This isn’t about partisan or mayoral politics, it’s about a board leadership and educational administration that has lost the plot favoring silencing its “subjects” and moving an agenda based on their own power in spite of the consent of the very people it was elected to serve.

Please join me in voting No Confidence in the Superintendent of Schools Iris White and Chairperson of the Board of Education Shelby Pons. I am calling on both to resign so the Board of Education can get back to the business of serving the citizens of Bristol and focusing on the education of our youth. Enough with the polarization of the community into adversarial positions with political gamesmanship.

It’s time to come together and focus on the actual mission of the Board of Education and restore an environment where the students come first without any consideration as to which adults are going to be able to score points in a political fight. We need to put the students first and show the door to those who seem incapable of it. Send a message that we won’t be silenced by anyone regardless of party.
