My personal connection to the city of Pune and as a trustee of an NGO that works to restore historically significant sites, has led me to champion the cause of the Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa Samadhi Restoration Project. The tomb, located in the riverbed in front of Poona Hospital, is a significant heritage site that languished in disrepair for many years. Despite cleanliness drives by Zhunj Pratishthan, the situation necessitates extensive restoration to properly preserve this piece of our history. Approaching our then MLA of the Kasba Legislative Assembly Muktatai Tillak, a proposal was made by the Panchaajanya Foundation for comprehensive restoration beyond regular cleaning. This invaluable site stands as a symbol of our city's rich past and it is imperative to ensure it withstands the test of time for future generations to appreciate. We must not forget the significant role Nanasaheb Peshwa played in the Maratha Empire and the pivotal historical moments attached to this location. Let's stand in solidarity to save our heritage! Sign the petition to convey the collective voice to our lawmakers that we value and wish to preserve Shrimant Nanasaheb Peshwa Samadhi.
