Hampstead Cemetery: Extended hours confirmed for pilot 2026!

Happy New Year!

A quick and positive update on Hampstead Cemetery on what our petition achieved.

The Council has now confirmed a one-year pilot of extended opening hours for 2026.
The aim is to demonstrate how important these hours are to local people and to support the case for a longer-term arrangement.

The proposed pilot hours are:

23 March – 5 April: closing at 5pm (+1 hour)
6 April – 6 September: closing at 7pm (+2 hours)
7 September – 25 October: closing at 6pm (+1 hour)

Respectful use will be key to making the case for keeping the arrangement long-term.

We are very lucky to have this special place on our doorstep, enjoy the extra time in the evenings.

Thank you again to everyone who signed, shared, and supported the petition.

With thanks,

Jill
