In July 2022, Gov. Eric Holcomb signed a proclamation Wednesday calling lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session starting July 6th. The session was originally to combat inflation but lawmakers may also try to pass abortion laws that would either severely restrict or outlaw the right to safe and legal abortion in the state of Indiana. On August 21st, 2023, Abortion was completely banned in the state of Indiana. This renders many women unable to get the care they need and deserve. My original petition got 19,900 signatures, and the hope of bringing attention to it again in 2025, as healthcare becomes more restrictive is to bring attention to the lawmakers in the State of Indiana that we want our right to choose to be once again protected.
