During the days of the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, they had a streamlined passenger train known as the Phoebe Snow. The train ran from Hoboken Terminal in Hudson County, New Jersey to Buffalo with intermediate stops in Scranton, Binghamton, Elmira, and various other stops in between. The train ceased service in 1966, but passenger rail service to Scranton and Binghamton continued until 1970, when the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, the successor to both the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad terminated the Lake Cities passenger train. 

In 2021, when Amtrak unveiled its long-term plan for expansion across the United States, Scranton and Binghamton were among the list of cities to be served, and sure enough, Amtrak had in fact discussed the feasibilty of reviving the Phoebe Snow.

That being said, Amtrak should revive the Phoebe Snow, and it should feature all the standard amenities that most Amtrak trains offer, including an on-board cafe car, restrooms, and free Wi-Fi.
