Living on Hodgebower in the stunning setting of Ironbridge, Telford—a designated World Heritage Site—brings immense pride and a daily reminder of our rich cultural heritage. Yet, for me and many other local residents, there's a daily frustration that mars this beautiful landscape: the conspicuous 'Keep Clear' writing plastered unnecessarily on our road.

Every day, this inscription stands out not as a safeguard, but as an eyesore that contradicts the strict planning and conservation orders designed to protect our community and its historical integrity. These orders ensure that every change respects and preserves the historical significance of the area. So why, then, is this writing allowed to remain when it evidently clashes with these principles?

Aside from aesthetic concerns, this marking serves no practical purpose. The road experiences controlled parking from local residents which in the majority remains very respectful and in rare cases of an issue is easily remedied. Instead, it unfairly penalises other residents by dictating road use in ways that aren’t beneficial or needed. We, as residents, cherish and understand the importance of cautious development in our area more than any other, yet this change has occurred without proper consultation or necessity.
