The family park and picnic area in Ta’ Qali, is one of the few large green spaces of its kind in Malta. It has been gravelled over, making it hard, unsafe, and uncomfortable for children, pets, and families who have long enjoyed this space.

Green spaces are vital. They provide safe areas for play, foster community connection, support mental and physical well-being, and contribute to the environment and biodiversity.

We are calling on local authorities to restore this area to its original green state or implement a sustainable plan to reintroduce greenery.

Preserving Ta’ Qali’s park is about more than aesthetics and profits; it is about protecting a space that benefits the entire community, now and for generations to come.

Putting greed above the comfort of the people is nothing new in this country.

We can’t forget how they tried to turn Manoel Island into concrete, but we got it back, now it’s time to get back Ta’ Qali.
