Currently, there are no centres providing surgical retina services in New Brunswick. We are the only province in Canada without this service. Patients with acute and chronic blinding retinal conditions must travel to Halifax or Quebec for these services. This comes at a financial cost and in some cases worse outcomes due to delays.  

We request that the Government fund a community surgical retina program in Fredericton due to its central location.
