For generations, Camp Seph Mack has been a beloved space for Scouts and their families to learn, grow, and build lasting memories in the great outdoors. Today, this treasured camp is at risk.

Due to a leak in the camp’s water system—and ongoing legal complications preventing a connection to municipal water—Camp Seph Mack currently has no running water. As a result, a major weekend event with over 70 Scouts had to be cancelled due to health and safety concerns.

This isn’t just a plumbing issue. It’s a clear example of neglect, as the Laurel Highlands Council appears to be focusing its resources on newer, larger camps while our local camp sits in limbo.

We are calling on our state and local representatives, the Laurel Highlands Council, and the PA Department of Health to:

1. Prioritize repairs to the existing water system.

2. Expedite the legal process of connecting the camp to city water.

3. Ensure Camp Seph Mack is safe, functional, and accessible for future generations.

Our Scouts deserve safe spaces to grow and lead. Let’s work together to protect and preserve Camp Seph Mack.
